Georgia’s Wine Exports Grow

In January-May 2019 Georgia exported 33.6 million bottles of wines to 39 countries, up 6% year on year. Total value of the exported wines made up 87 million USD, up 16% year on year.

Exports rose on strategic markets: 
• USA - 126% (322835)
• China - 27% (2972733) 
• Poland - 18% (1540182)

Significant growth in wine exports was recorded in the following countries:
• France - 91% (46254)
• Israel - 72% (131184)
• Lithuania - 57% (270564)
• Belarus- 47% (680906)
• Estonia - 33% (287582)
• Netherlands - 27% (42380)
• Canada - 26% (76860)
• Mongolia - 22% (106452)
• Germany - 9% (274721)
• Russia - 5% (21372581)

Top 5 exports markets: 
• Russia (21372581),
• Ukraine (3080562)
• China (2972733),
• Poland (1540182) 
• Kazakhstan (1223256)

10.7 million bottles pf brandy were exported to 17 countries, up 60% year on year. Total incomes from brandy exports made up 23 million USD, up 67% year on year. 

Georgia also exported 216.5 thousand bottles of Chacha to 19 countries, up 61% and total incomes from Chacha exports marked 572.2 thousand USD, up 37%. 
In the reporting period wine exports was carried out by 203 companies.
