"Georgia's Best Non-Qvevri Wines" Tasting Held in Germany

A tasting event titled "Georgia's Best Non-Qvevri Wines" was held in Neustadt, Germany.

Organized within the framework of cooperation with the prestigious German media group Meininger, the event featured a blind tasting of Georgian wines attended by wine industry professionals, representatives of the commercial sector, sommeliers, and journalists.

The purpose of the tasting was to identify the finest Georgian wines produced using methods other than the traditional qvevri technique. The results, including the wines' scores, will be published in September in special features in Weinwirtschaft and SOMMELIER magazines.

Weinwirtschaft is Meininger's leading business-to-business (B2B) publication, serving wine merchants, sommeliers, and wine industry professionals. The magazine is widely recognized for its annual rankings of Germany's best wine retailers and supermarket wine departments.

SOMMELIER is another of Meininger's highly respected professional publications, created specifically for sommeliers working in fine dining establishments, restaurateurs, and premium beverage enthusiasts. The magazine focuses on fine wine culture, gastronomy, and emerging trends in the premium wine sector.

This marketing initiative provides an additional opportunity to enhance the visibility and reputation of Georgian wine in the German market.

Germany is Europe's largest wine-importing and wine-consuming market. Thanks to promotional activities supported by the National Wine Agency and its ongoing cooperation with Georgian wine producers, exports of Georgian wine to Germany continue to grow. During the January–June period of this year, Georgia exported nearly 784,000 liters of wine to Germany, representing a 22% increase compared to the same period last year.
