Georgia Earned $65 Million in Wine Exports in the First Four Months of 2021
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the rate of Georgian wine exports and its value has increased.
According to the agency, in January-April 2021, up to 28.3 million bottles (0.75 l) of wine were exported to 55 countries, which is 15% more than the same period in 2020.
The value of exported wine is up by 7% to 65 million US dollars.
The Ministry notes that exports to strategic markets have increased:
Poland - 2% (1,841,192 bottles);
China - 19% (1,553,533 bottles);
Lithuania - 71% (356,748 bottles);
USA - 2% (325 468 bottles);
Estonia - 3% (228,592 bottles);
Germany - 1% (229,527 bottles);
UK - 6% (157,932 bottles).
252 companies exported different volumes of Georgian wine and alcoholic beverages.
According to them, the country earned 106.3 million dollars as a result of exports of wine, brandy, chacha, brandy alcohol and bottled brandy, which is 15% more than the same period last year.
