BYD Officially Enters Georgia in Partnership with GT Group, Opens First Authorized Showroom in Tbilisi
BYD, the global leader in new energy vehicles (NEVs), has officially entered the Georgian market in partnership with GT Group, establishing the brand’s first and sole authorized representation in the country.
Leveraging GT Group’s 20-year footprint representing premium automotive brands - including BMW, Land Rover, and Jaguar- the launch brings certified vehicle sales, warranty-backed servicing, and official aftersales support to Georgia for the first time.
As the single authorized destination for BYD in Georgia, the initial Tbilisi showroom connects drivers directly to factory-level support:
- Official manufacturer warranties and continuous software updates
- Authorized maintenance delivered by authorized technicians
- Genuine OEM spare parts and full lifecycle technical assistance
The launch introduces BYD’s hallmark engineering to the market, headlined by the proprietary Blade Battery and DM-i Super Hybrid platform. Backed by GT Group’s long-term infrastructure commitment, this opening marks the first phase of a nationwide rollout. Plans include breaking ground on a flagship showroom and service center at #218 David Aghmashenebeli Alley in Tbilisi, scheduled for completion in 2027, alongside a dedicated regional sales and service center in Batumi.
The development of an ultra-fast charging station network that connects Tbilisi, Batumi, Rustavi, Kakheti, and strategic transport corridors is currently in progress. This network will feature next-generation chargers that are designed to reload vehicles in an average of nine minutes, thereby facilitating cross-country electric mobility.
BYD senior management, international delegates, and prominent figures from Georgia's business, media, and creative communities attended the official opening, which was distinguished by an original performance composed for the event by international artist Anushka Chkheidze.
Currently, the Tbilisi showroom offers an authorized model lineup that is backed by full factory warranties. The local portfolio will be expanded by additional global models on an ongoing basis.
