Ambrolauri Mayor: Large Investments Made in the Cultivation on Vineyards in the Region

"In recent years, large investments have been made in the cultivation of vineyards," Ambrolauri Mayor Zviad Mkheidze said. 

According to Mkheidze, the main development priorities of Ambrolauri municipality are divided as follows: tourism and agriculture.

" Quite a lot of investments have been made in these directions in recent years, including in the cultivation of vineyards: Alexandrouli and Mujuretuli. This is the grape from which the famous wine, our brand "Kvanchkara" is made. Family cellars were also organized, 9 wineries were built in recent years," said Zviad Mkheidze at Bm.ge.

According to him, favorable conditions and appropriate infrastructure are needed for business development.

"It's important to have the road to the location, gasification, electricity, and internet, without which it is impossible to exist today. In general, the state has paid special attention to mountain municipalities in recent years.

A lot of interesting projects have been implemented in our municipality: we have 69 villages, and our pre-election promise was, and this promise was not given in vain, that access roads to the centers of all villages should be paved with asphalt and concrete. As of today, roads in 25 villages have already been completed, and 11 village roads will be added this year with ongoing projects.

In 2025, the road construction of all 69 villages will be completed. As for gasification, it has already been implemented in certain villages, on the right bank of Rioni, and the entire municipality should be gasified periodically within the framework of the state program by the end of 2024," Mkheidze said.

For information, as of today, 16 villages in the Ambrolauri municipality are already using natural gas, 13 villages have already been connected.
