Amber Wine Consumption Rises in the USA - Colangelo & Partners
With support from the National Wine Agency, American marketing company Colangelo & Partners recently organized a tour for American wine professionals in Georgia. A group of 12 experts visited wine-producing regions in Kakheti and Kartli, where they explored Georgian winemaking techniques and tasted both classical and traditional Georgian wines.
"Amber wine consumption is growing in the United States and is increasingly featured on restaurant wine lists," said Paul Iannone, Vice President of Colangelo & Partners. "Georgian wine is exceptional and pairs well with many types of cuisine. I believe sommeliers, wine agency heads, and hotel food and beverage operators should visit Georgia to experience its diverse wines and help expand this category in their countries."
Since 2022, Colangelo & Partners has been leading a marketing campaign for Georgian wine in the U.S. through cooperation with the National Wine Agency. This campaign includes visits by American wine professionals to learn about Georgian wines, history, and culture.
The campaign has been highly successful, with collaborations with media outlets like CBS and CNN contributing to a significant boost in sales. In the first eight months of 2024, Georgia exported nearly 900,000 liters of wine to the U.S., a 66% increase compared to the same period last year.
Colangelo & Partners has been a key player in the American market for over 15 years.
