The First Independent Ascent of Georgian Women to the Peak of Ushba
The United Federation of Mountaineers of Georgia recently announced the first independent ascent of Georgian women to the peak of Ushba.
Mariam Gelashvili and Maia Sichinava, both participants in Archil Badriashvili's Chaukhi sports camp, achieved this remarkable feat.
After rigorous preparation in Chaukhi, the duo traveled to Svaneti, where they independently climbed the three- and four-difficulty routes of Tetnuldi, as well as summiting South Shkhara and North Ushba. Their accomplishment marks a significant milestone in Georgian mountaineering.
