Gakharia: We will Support Tourism Sector with Various Programs

"We will stand by the tourism sector and support various programs, tax deferrals or other benefits," said Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia, speaking at the opening of the 112th session of the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Executive Board.

According to the head of the government, the Georgian tourism sector will be one of the leaders in terms of the current competition challenges and will claim to be one of the leading countries in global tourism.

"In the fight against the global pandemic, Georgia has set two main goals from the very beginning, to protect the health and lives of its citizens and to save the economy. Tourism has played a leading role in the government's anti-crisis plan and will continue to do so until global tourism recovery trends emerge," he said.
