14 km Ecotourism Trail Arranged in the Protected Area of Ajameti

For lovers of nature and easy hiking, the first 14 km circular trail is arranged in the Ajameti reserve, 15 km away from Kutaisi.

The trail will be accessible on foot, as well as by bicycle and horse.

The trail will be marked and will allow the visitor to start the journey from the Ajameti administration building in the village of Vartsikhe, follow it to the village of Saimedo in the south-west, and back again to the administrative center of the village of Vartsikhe.

Along the trail, near the village of Saimedo and the village of Vartsikhe, there are picnic and tent spaces for visitors, where they can spend the night.

There was no ecotourism infrastructure in the Ajameti reserve until now, and according to the Agency of Protected Areas, it will be the first tourist-recreational infrastructure to open at the end of the month and receive visitors at any time of the year.

293 000 GEL was spent for the construction of a new ecotourism trail with accompanying infrastructure.

The Ajameti Reserved Area was established in 1928 and has been granted the status since 2007.
