Top Startups from Ukraine - Europe's One of the Fastest Growing Hubs

Ukraine had a thriving startup ecosystem and some of the world's fastest-growing IT hubs before Russia invaded in February 2022.

According to StartupBlink's Startup Ecosystem Rankings 2020, Ukraine is in the top 30 globally, and Kyiv has become a European hub. In recent years, new companies and investors have sprung up in Kyiv, resulting in a 26 percent year-over-year increase in the tech sector.

Let’s take a look at some of the most successful startups in Ukraine:

Grammarly

Grammarly has over 30 million users, who wish to improve their writing, yet most people are unaware that it was founded in Ukraine by three Kyiv natives, Alex Shevchenko, Max Lytvyn, and Dmytro Lider. Grammarly's free edition, which is still available today, was launched in 2015. Grammarly aspired to provide stylistic analysis and word-choice recommendations, as opposed to competing efforts that concentrated on spelling and grammar.

RefaceAI

RefaceAI was named ‘’App of the Year’’ in Google Play and took 1st place in the US APP store. RefaceAI's early success, according to its Kyiv-based inventors, was a pure accident. The three friends were exploring machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) one day when they discovered a quick, extremely accurate face-swapping approach. They got Series A funding for a photo face-swapper, then moved on to videos before settling on the RefaceAI social content creation platform we know today.

People.AI

People.AI’s mission is to help companies accelerate growth, revenue, and innovation. They do this through reliable, unified data and more effective approaches to putting that data into action. People.AI uses technology to make business more human. The result is a platform that empowers business leaders, helping them manage teams and workflow for large teams.

CleanMyMac X

CleanMyMac X is an all-in-one package to awesomize your Mac. It cleans megatons of junk and makes your computer run faster. Just like it did on day one.  The startup was developed by MacPaw, a Ukrainian company based in Kyiv, Ukraine. It's one of the most popular Mac apps, allowing users to remove malware with a single mouse click.

The same startup also created a set of Mac and iPhone apps, including Clear VPN and Wallpaper Wizard 2, as well as Gemini Photos, which helps you get rid of duplicate photos.

Readdle

Readdle Team enables technology for millions of people, making them more productive, solving real problems, and changing what’s possible with iPhone, iPad and Mac.
