Ankra Bankra : Personalized Polymer Clay Souvenirs as an Original Gift

Ankra Bankra is handmade souvenirs made with polymer clay. Ana Kaulashvili, the founder of the brand and author of the artworks tells CBW about her working process. 

''I worked for one of the companies, where we were played "Secret Santa" with the staff during Christmas. I found out I was the Santa of my boss. I wanted to be distinctive and creative. I started making small toys with air-drying clay, leaving them on her desk secretly, for her and her children. Everyone seemed to like it and I also enjoyed the sculpting process. 

I could not return to work after the birth of my second child, so I decided to get busy with handicrafts. I found information on polymer clay and started making Christmas tree toys. It was so well received by relatives and friends that I remember a friend of friend giving me an order. I decided to go further than the circle of relatives, so I created a Facebook page. I started decorating cups with polymer clay. Every foreign customer was my motivator and source of inspiration. I have been working on cups for the third year already,''-Ana told us about how it all started. 

The material is almighty polymer clay. According to Ana, it's an amazing work material, with lots of opportunities. She works without molds and sculpts each detail by hand, after which she bakes it in an electric oven at 110 °.

''My workday starts at night because I have two over-lively boys who need me during the day. I put them into sleep at night and start working. However, I work on the phone during the day, I take orders, answer the questions and send the orders, I solve a thousand small details.

In my team is my sister who is now learning to work on clay. Helps me do the details. We have big plans ahead together. The work process is a pleasure when you create and watch the finished work then

Anna wants to open a store in the future, her mother joining the team, as she studied painting on porcelain. She painted and created amazing works in her youth, thus this line will be added to Ankra Bankra.
