What aesthetic, social and political potential do youth, sub- and club culture have and how can their artistic consideration be realized in an exhibition context? These are the introductory questions and thoughts on the curatorial concept of the exhibition “Unspoken: Words of Silence and Noise” in the NINO GOGE GALLERY, in Tbilisi, Georgia.

The exhibition reflects the historical, social, and political themes that have accompanied the youth, sub- and club culture of Georgia since 1918. In terms of content, at the artistic-aesthetic level, the exhibition deals also with the historical, social, and political issues that are characteristic of the abovementioned cultures. At the same time, it seeks to find unifying, global traits.

In addition to the video work created by the curator, which is considering and combining video material from the National Archives of Georgia, the archives of the Georgian channel - TV1 and personal sources, the exhibition represents an artistic and documentary-retrospective overview of Georgian youth, sub and club cultures, the exhibition will show photographic work of Guram Tsibakhashvili and Omar Gogichaishvili (Hitori Ni).

Alongside the exhibition, five musicians from Tbilisi’s club culture scene will present a peculiar, creative performance, which is shaped by the aesthetic idea of various motifs from sub and youth cultures.
