Maudi Live Action Presents Musical Performance on November 14

Georgian dancer and performer Natia Chikvaidze and Italian performer Sabrina Bellenzier present a collaborative piece exploring the landscapes of dream and their translation into symbolic actions and gestures.

Taking as a starting point the conversation with a strong cultural archetype, the performance unfolds as a set of mysterious correspondences, an exploration of the limits of language, a constant re-creation of interferences in a time out of joint. Traveling through memory and seeking for traces, passing through states of transformation and hybridisation.

The performance is guided by the immersive soundscape created by Nino Davadze, young female emerging music producer and sound art enthusiast based in Georgia, Tbilisi. The lockdown has been the turning point for her to experiment with production tools, field recordings, Ableton live, vocals, and software synthesizers. As a member of Live-Bloom Collective she got introduced to the philosophy of performance, power of collective listening, sharing the common sonic spaces. Since then, Industrial pop, lyrics x software synth sound became the tools for live-storytelling. As an electronic music producer, Nino will perform for the first time at MAUDI “cave” on Saturday.

Natia Chikvaidze is a professional contemporary dancer and choreographer from Tbilisi, Georgia, who grew up as a dancer in an international environment, in France, Israel and Portugal. Collaborating with artists from various cultural background and disciplines deeply impacted her relationship to dance, to society and to movement. Her artistic aim is to explore, broaden and challenge the range of physical expression, finding different qualities of the movement and emotional states.
Sabrina Bellenzier is an Italian performance artist and anthropologist, currently doing research in Tbilisi. S/he mainly creates ritual actions exploring the hybridisation of the body, the relationship with the non-human, contamination as a generative process opposed to aseptical purity.
