Kiwi Vegan Cafe hosts charity event to support Ukraine. The first vegan cafe in Georgia posted on their Facebook event about it.
"Dear friends,
As you know, April 9 is of great importance to our nation as the day when the Georgian nation unanimously expressed its aspiration for freedom and independence. On this day, the blood of people who sacrificed their lives for their homeland was shed and the state independence of Georgia was restored.
Due to the symbolic value of this great day, this Saturday, April 9, our cafe will host a charity event to help the people of Ukraine and the animals left in difficult conditions following the invasion by Russia.
In particular, we would like to support Dogbus, a volunteer organization based in the UK (see info: https://www.facebook.com/dogbus999/; https://donorbox.org/ukraine-aid-animals-and-people). The organization carries out the safe transport of animals and holds joint efforts with other movements such as: Breaking the Chains; War Paws; Rushton Dog Rescue; Underdog International, and A Better Life Dog Rescue.
At this stage, they are actively involved in the supply of vital products to people and animals in Ukraine, as well as being involved in the evacuation, transportation and treatment of our four-legged friends.They need support for rapid response in order to save as many lives as possible. Without proper support, it is difficult to deliver emergency supplies to Ukraine's red zones, including animal care and shelter assistance.
We additionally researched the humanitarian needs and revealed that the population is asking for help with grains. Therefore, we decided to use the collected money to buy food and send it to Ukraine.
On April 9, Kiwi is waiting for you for an evening of Ukrainian music. The money which will be collected will be fully used for charitable purposes. We have already set up a donation box in the cafe. You can also buy bracelets made in the colors of the Ukrainian flag with us. 100% of the cafe’s income and all the donations will be directly used to help people and animals in Ukraine.
