Georgia to Participate in Frankfurt Book Fair this Year

Georgia will be presented with 2 events on this year's Frankfurt Book Fair from 14 to 18 October.

Frankfurt Book Fair will not be held in the traditional format. BOOKFEST will take place physically in the city of Frankfurt as BOOKFEST city and, for the first time, virtually as BOOKFEST digital. 

On October 15th, at 20:00 (German time) within the frameworks of Bookfest City, Georgian writer, Iunona Guruli will present her new book Mohnfelder (Corvinus Presse, 2020), which will be moderated by German writer Susan Schmidt.

On October 17th, at 15:20 (German time), a short film will be shown online to the international audience about Georgia and Georgian literature made by Georgian writers.

Frankfurt Book Fair maintains the function of the global publishing industry hub and offers its audience unique online platform International Markets. It will unite the virtual spaces of the countries and will enable publishing professionals to be introduced to different book fairs at once. The visitor can also explore the virtual space of Georgian book fair on this platform.

The Frankfurt Book Fair is the world's largest trade fair for books, based both on the number of publishing companies represented, and the number of visitors. It is considered to be the most important book fair in the world for international deals and trading.

The five-day annual event in mid-October is held at the Frankfurt Trade Fair grounds in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The first three days are restricted exclusively to professional visitors; the general public attend the fair on the weekend.
