Georgia to Host Startup World Cup Regional Event This Year

Co-hosted by Startup Connect, Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency and Startuperi - program by TBC Bank, Georgia will host for the first time the largest startup competition in the world - the Startup World Cup regional event - Black Sea and Beyond Regional Competition.

It is the first and the biggest virtual competition hosted by Georgia, which involves 10 countries from around the Black and Caspian seas. The winners of the regional competitions will compete to enter the global finals, held in Silicon Valley. Annual Startup World Cup winners can accelerate their ideas into reality with the help of 1 million USD in funding and global recognition.

The event aims to launch and advise the world's next wave of leading entrepreneurs and creates unique precedent for attracting the world’s brightest minds across the globe and compete them in solving the planet's biggest challenges through ground-breaking solutions that move ecosystems forward. While the main objective of the regional competition is to accelerate the development and empowerment of Startup space in Georgia and in around region countries.

Black Sea and Beyond Regional Competition is one of 50 regional competitions held from US to Indonesia to select the best startups in Georgia and in the region for the Grand Finale of Startup World Cup – worlds largest startup competition pitch organized by Pegasus Tech Ventures, a billion-dollar corporate VC fund based in Silicon Valley.
