Artarea Gallery hosts Tbilisi Illustration Fair Next Week
Tbilisi Illustration Festival will be held within the framework of "Tbilisi - World Book Capital", with the support of Bank of Georgia. 34 illustrators based in Georgia will take part in the festival, whose works will be presented in the exhibition space. A catalog of works by 45 illustrators will also be presented.
Illustrated book presentations and various types of meetings are planned during the festival at Artarea Gallery. Illustrated books, illustration sketches, postcards, accessories and other types of printed products will be sold. More specifically:
After the presentation of the catalog on December 13, a meeting will be held with illustrator Ana Janelidze, moderated by Niki Tarkhan-Mouravi. The guests arriving at the festival are expected to meet with Irakli Keidia and Dato Machavariani on the topic - Development of a graphic novel in Georgia. The moderator of the meeting will be Dato Samniashvili. Lasha Tskvitinidze's electronic music will end on the first day of the festival.
As for the next day, the guests of the festival will meet with illustrator Olesia Tavadze, who moderated by Zaza Abzianidze. Tamar Londaridze will also present the book "Georgian Mythical Characters" by the publishing house "Intellect". The discussion will focus on the new direction of the illustrated books of the publishing house.
That's not all. The guests will be able to attend the presentation of Ia Gabunia's new book - "Where the Earth Disappeared", which will be moderated by Nino Dzandzava. The last day of the festival will be closed by the presentation of two new illustrated books by the publishing house "Melanie". Also, meeting with publisher and authors.
