12th Batumi-Tbilisi Festival Night Serenades to Open on August 27
Due to pandemic-driven regulations and worldwide festival experience, the 12th Batumi-Tbilisi Night Serenades Festival will be held in a different format this year. The audience will see the concert in Batumi live on Adjara TV of the Public Broadcaster, and the concerts in Tbilisi will be broadcast live on Livestream.
Masterpieces of classical music will be performed at the concert evenings, as well as the premiere of works by contemporary Georgian composers.
The festival will traditionally open in Batumi on August 27, on the big stage of the Ilia Chavchavadze Professional State Drama Theater in Batumi. The concert evening is dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the famous Georgian composer and teacher - Sulkhan Tsintsadze. The winner of the concert will be Tamar Licheli (piano), winner of numerous national and international competitions, together with Gia Kancheli String Quartet.
Concert evenings will be held in Tbilisi on September 2 and 4. The basic orchestra of the festival "Georgian Virtuosos" created by Liana Isakadze, the chief conductor of the festival Vakhtang Machavariani, the soloists - Sandro Nebieridze, Liza Chkhaidze, Elene Shaverzashvili will take part in the concert evenings in Tbilisi.
The festival celebrates the 95th anniversary of the famous Georgian composer and teacher Sulkhan Tsintsadze and the 250th anniversary of the composer Ludwig van Beethoven.
