Why Georgian Bay Leaves Goes for Export, not for Domestic Market
LLC Georgian Bay, a bay leaves processing plant equipped with modern technologies, provides active job for covering exports markets and supplies 100% of its products to foreign markets.
“The domestic market is small for bay leaves. We export our products to foreign markets completely”, the company director Mamuka Alpaidze told BM.GE.
The company exports products to international markets, including to such countries as Korea, Bulgaria, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, China. At this stage, the company has no expansion plans, he added.
“Georgian Bay employs about 50 persons and processes at least 200 tons of bay leaves. As to raw materials, the company buys it on domestic market, he said.
Initially, the company invested 1.443 million GEL in production, including the co-funding portion made up 577 287 GEL.
