US Embassy: We Urge the Ruling Party to Officially Retract these Bills and not Pursue Further this Type of Legislation
The Embassy of the United States of America in Georgia released a statement welcoming Georgian Dream's decision to withdraw both draft laws on "foreign influence", stressing the need for the ruling party to retract these bills and work towards reforms that are urgently needed to obtain the EU candidate status that Georgia's citizens overwhelmingly desire, while also urging the leaders of Georgia to work together in earnest on these reforms to protect fundamental freedoms and to pursue a secure and prosperous European future that is compatible with Georgian and European values.
