Turkish Specialists Visit Anaseuli Laboratory to Deepen Cooperation on Pest Management

Representatives from the plant protection sector of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey paid a working visit to the Anaseuli Adam Beridze Integrated Soil, Food, and Plant Protection Center, part of the LEPL Agricultural Scientific-Research Center. The visit was reported by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.

Levan Ujmajuridze, Director of the Center, introduced the delegation to the ongoing research and practical activities conducted in the laboratory.

The facility is fully equipped with specialized tools, including entomological cages and Level II climate-controlled boxes essential for insect reproduction. Current research focuses on identifying biological control agents for the Asian pheasant and other agricultural pests.

The Turkish delegation toured the laboratory complex, observed the work processes, and discussed the expertise of Georgian specialists. The guests emphasized that Georgia’s integrated approach to combating the Asian pheasant serves as a solid foundation for enhancing bilateral cooperation.

The meeting was also attended by Zurab Lipartia, Deputy Head of the National Food Agency; Nikoloz Meskhi, Head of the Agency’s Plant Protection Department; Ioseb Basilia, Director of the Adam Beridze Center; and laboratory specialists.
