Rural Development Agency Opens Applications for Mountainous Area Entrepreneurship Support Program
The Rural Development Agency has opened the application process for participation in the Entrepreneurship Support Program for Mountainous Settlements for this year.
Applications will be accepted starting July 8 at 12:00 PM and will continue until the program's budget of 5 million GEL is fully allocated.
The program was launched in 2023. As of today, the state has already co-financed 114 business ideas with more than 9 million GEL under this initiative.
Under the state program, co-financing per potential beneficiary will be no less than 30,000 GEL and no more than 100,000 GEL, but not exceeding 50% of the total project cost. An additional 10% benefit is available for young entrepreneurs and agricultural cooperatives. At the time of application, the total project cost must not exceed 500,000 GEL.
The program supports both non-agricultural and agricultural activities (excluding primary agricultural production), including storage and processing facilities, wineries, small family hotels, dining establishments, and other business ideas, except those restricted by program rules.
The goal of the program is to support private sector development and the creation of new jobs in mountainous areas through co-financing, while encouraging youth entrepreneurship and stimulating economic activity.
