Parliament Drops Transparency of 'Foreign Influence' law
During the parliamentary plenary session, the draft law on "Transparency of Foreign Influence" was voted on and ultimately rejected in its second reading, following the Chairman of Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili's assertion that there was a general consensus on the bill's inevitable failure, prompting direct voting which resulted in 35 MPs voting against the draft law and only one MP in favor, with 112 MPs registering their votes.
Meanwhile, the second draft law, "On the Registration of Foreign Agents," has already been requested for withdrawal by the political party "People's Power," as announced during a session of the bureau chaired by the parliamentary chairman.
