Nino Tandilashvili Re-Elected as Vice President of the Eighth Session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-8) Representing Eastern Europe

Nino Tandilashvili, First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, has been unanimously re-elected for a second term as Vice President of the Eighth Session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-8), representing the Eastern European region.

The decision was made within the framework of the ongoing United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-7) in the Nairobi, Republic of Kenya.

“It is a great honor for me to be re-elected for a second term on behalf of Georgia to the highest UN platform that shapes the global environmental agenda. In my role as Vice President, I will do my utmost to ensure that the priorities of my country and region—particularly in the fields of environmental protection and sustainable ecosystem management—are clearly represented and heard at the UN’s highest level,” said Nino Tandilashvili.

Within the framework of the Seventh Session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-7), held in Nairobi, Nino Tandilashvili chaired the Assembly’s plenary sessions in her capacity as Vice President of UNEA-7.
