Minister of Environment and Agriculture Introduces Two New Deputy Ministers
The Minister of Environment and Agriculture, Davit Songulashvili, has introduced two new deputy ministers: Lasha Avaliani and Zurab Ezugbaia.
Minister Songulashvili wished them success, saying that their experience and perspectives will further activate the Ministry’s work.

Lasha Avaliani holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Georgian Agrarian University and has a doctorate in parasitology. He has many years of experience working in state, private, and international organizations. From 2015 to 2019, he led the Veterinary Department of the National Food Agency under the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture. Later, he served as Senior Deputy in a USDA project focused on safe and quality livestock. Avaliani will begin fulfilling the duties of deputy minister on September 22.

Zurab Ezugbaia graduated from the Faculty of Law at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. He has extensive experience in both the public and private sectors, having held positions in the State Chancellery, the Parliament, the state electricity company, and the Ministry of Justice. He will assume the deputy minister role starting September 3.
