Kutaisi International Airport Celebrates Milestone with Arrival of Millionth Passenger

Kutaisi International Airport recently celebrated a milestone, warmly welcoming its millionth passenger of the year, Peter Gotzinger, a 36-year-old German citizen. The Union of Georgian Airports proudly disclosed this notable achievement. Mr. Gotzinger, a well-known street food blogger, visited Georgia for the first time with her husband and intends to explore the country for about a month.

This occasion also marked the first time Davit Aghmashenebeli Airport hosted its millionth passenger. “Dear passengers, today you are witnessing history. On this monumental flight, one of you is Kutaisi Airport’s millionth passenger for the year,” announced the Wizz Air pilot to the boarding passengers in Frankfurt.

This memorable flight, organized by the Union of Georgian Airports, provided all passengers with specially branded travel pillows commemorating the event. The pillows featured a QR code leading to information about the significance of the flight, details about Kutaisi, and highlights of the Imereti region’s attractions.

As each passenger disembarked, they journeyed through a tunnel of screens displaying unique content about the historic significance of this flight for Kutaisi Airport and the welcoming hospitality of Georgia’s Imereti region. They also received “Flying Painter” passport inserts specially branded for the occasion.

The climax of the event unfolded in the baggage claim area, where the millionth passenger was revealed when a specially branded suitcase appeared on the conveyor belt. Peter Gotzinger, the honored guest, was showered with gifts arranged by the Airport Association, including a flexible travel voucher allowing him to explore any part of Georgia, a selection of Georgian products, and a Wizz Air voucher valid for any destination. A splendid multi-hour performance by the Kutaisi State Song and Dance Ensemble added a festive touch to the occasion.
