Irrigation Water Supply to 650 Hectares of Farmland in Shida Kartli to Be Improved – Georgian Amelioration
Georgian Amelioration LLC is continuously implementing land reclamation infrastructure projects across the country.
According to the company, a 1-kilometer section of the main canal of the Skra-Kareli irrigation system is being cleaned in the villages of Akhalsopeli and Samtsebrisi in Shida Kartli.
The works, carried out under the exploitation program, will facilitate the unhindered flow of water in the canal, improving irrigation water supply to approximately 650 hectares of agricultural land.
The irrigation canal serves eight villages in the Kareli and Gori municipalities: Samtsebrisi, Kareli, Khvedureti, Kvenaplavi, Ghvlevi, Skra, Rieti, and Betlemi.
The company is conducting the work independently, with completion expected by mid-month. Notably, ten land reclamation infrastructure rehabilitation projects are currently underway in the Shida Kartli region. As a result, irrigation water supply will be improved on a total of 12,250 hectares of farmland.
