Irrigation Water Supply Improved on 160 Hectares of Farmland in Imereti

As part of ongoing efforts to improve amelioration infrastructure, Georgian Reclamation LLC has completed works on the Khoni-Samtredia irrigation system in the Imereti region. A 4-kilometer section of the distribution canal was cleared of trees, vegetation, and sediment in the villages of Ivandidi and Gocha Jikhaishi.

As a result, the canal’s capacity has increased, leading to improved irrigation services on 160 hectares of agricultural land.

It is noteworthy that since 2012, land improvement infrastructure projects in the Imereti region have enabled irrigation for 12,075 hectares of farmland, improved water supply on 15,265 hectares, and provided drainage on 3,385 hectares.
