Irrigation Improvements to Benefit 400 Hectares of Farmland in Shida Kartli

LLC “Georgia Melioration” continues to implement irrigation infrastructure projects across the country in an uninterrupted manner.

In the Shida Kartli region, a 2.5-kilometer section of the Tiriponi main irrigation canal is being cleaned in the area of the village Mejvriskhevi.

"As a result of the work, the canal’s throughput capacity will increase, which will improve irrigation services for approximately 400 hectares of agricultural land. The irrigation canal serves the populations of Mejvriskhevi, Zerti, Kirbali, and Kvarkheti," the company announced.

The work is being carried out using the company’s own resources.

It is noteworthy that there are currently six irrigation rehabilitation projects underway in the Shida Kartli region, which will improve water supply across 11,870 hectares of farmland, according to information released by LLC “Georgia Melioration.”
