Georgia-Ukraine Trade Hit by War
In the beginning of 2023, Georgia-Ukraine trade turnover was $22.5 million, down by 65.6% from January last year due to the Russia-Ukraine war.
Ukraine was previously a top trade partner but dropped to fifteenth place. In January 2023, Georgia exported goods worth $6.3 million to Ukraine, 80% less than January 2022.
Georgia's top exports to Ukraine in January 2023 were non-denatured ethyl alcohol, light vehicles, and oil products.
Imports from Ukraine were $16.1 million, down by 52.3% from last year. The top imports were corn, packaged medicinal products, and cotton.
Other imported products included corks, chocolate, and sunflower seeds.
