Georgia Exported $28.1 Million Worth of Peaches and Nectarines from 1 May to 13 September 2026
Deputy Ministers of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Lasha Dolidze and Lasha Avaliani met with peach and nectarine producers and exporters to review the current export season and discuss challenges facing the sector and potential solutions.
The meeting focused particularly on the need to supply high-quality produce to export markets and improve its competitiveness. Participants also discussed increasing yields, replacing low-yielding varieties, renewing ageing orchards, and improving access to high-quality saplings.
“The peach and nectarine export season is nearing its end. According to various estimates, slightly more than 1,000 tonnes of produce remain available for export. Overall, the season has been successful. There were some disruptions, but the final results are satisfactory in terms of both the volume sold and the prices achieved.
“At the same time, this season has once again demonstrated that improving product quality and increasing yields must be the main priorities for further strengthening the sector. It is important to plan concrete steps and measures that will help farmers improve production and create further opportunities for Georgian produce in international markets,” said Lasha Dolidze.
From 1 May to 13 September 2026, Georgia exported 22,800 tonnes of peaches and nectarines worth USD 28.1 million. The average export price during this period was USD 1.23 per kilogram.
The main export markets were Russia, with 21,468 tonnes; Armenia, with 883 tonnes; Ukraine, with 259 tonnes; and Belarus, with 178 tonnes.
