EU Ambassador to Georgia Emphasizes Growing Importance of Middle Corridor
The European Union Ambassador is participating in the Sixteenth Annual Meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) of the Transport Corridor Europe Caucasus Asia (TRACECA) program, held in Tbilisi.
EU Ambassador to Georgia, Pawel Herczynski, expressed the EU's support for connectivity and the development of TRACECA. He mentioned that the EU supports TRACECA financially and sees connectivity as a challenge that everyone faces. The EU's global gateway strategy aims to connect the European Union, South Caucasus, and Central Asia, and the ambassador stated that the EU is here to support all efforts for sustainable transport connections, both by rail and road, between the EU, South Caucasus, and Central Asia, with Georgia at the center.
The ambassador also emphasized the growing importance of the Middle Corridor in today's context, with the unprovoked Russian aggression over Ukraine, and the EU's support for trade connections through the South Caucasus linking the EU with Central Asia.
