Davit Songulashvili Visits State-Supported Dairy Processing Plant in Gardabani Municipality
Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Davit Songulashvili, together with the Director of the Rural Development Agency, Giorgi Darchiashvili, visited the village of Teleti in the Gardabani Municipality, where they observed the operations at the dairy processing plant “Teleti Dairy Products.”
The company, LLC “Teleti Dairy Products,” is a beneficiary of the Rural Development Agency. The establishment of the dairy processing facility was co-financed with ₾350,000 through the “Co-financing Program for Processing and Storage Enterprises.” The plant processes up to 5 tons of milk per day and produces various types of cheese. Its products are sold mainly to restaurant chains, hotels, and at the company’s own store in Tbilisi.
Currently, 35 people are employed at the facility. Davit Songulashvili also met with farmers and entrepreneurs who benefit from the programs of the Rural Development Agency.
“The growth in agricultural production in recent years is the result of targeted state programs. For over a decade, Georgian farmers and entrepreneurs have had access to affordable financing, agricultural machinery, modern technologies, and international markets. State support continues, and that’s why direct communication with those involved in production and understanding their needs is essential,” said Minister Songulashvili.
It is worth noting that under the "Co-financing Program for Processing and Storage Enterprises," the Rural Development Agency has co-financed the creation of 281 enterprises nationwide with a total investment exceeding ₾130 million. Specifically, in the Kvemo Kartli region, ₾9.6 million was allocated to co-finance 21 processing and storage facilities.
Minister Songulashvili was accompanied by Deputy Minister Kakha Kakabadze, State Representative of Kvemo Kartli Levan Kharebava, and Gardabani Municipality Mayor Davit Kargareteli.
