Davit Songulashvili: It Is Important That High-Quality Services Are Available to the Population
Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Davit Songulashvili visited the Borjomi regional office of the National Food Agency, where he met with employees and reviewed the progress of state programs currently being implemented in the region. These programs cover food safety, veterinary medicine, and plant protection. The discussion also addressed current challenges and the existing needs in the region.
Renovation works are currently underway at the Borjomi regional office to enhance working conditions and improve service delivery. The Minister emphasized that well-equipped infrastructure is essential not only for the effective functioning of the agency, but also to ensure the local population has reliable access to public services and state programs.
The National Food Agency plays a vital role in the Samtskhe-Javakheti region by conducting state control over food safety, providing free animal vaccinations under national programs, and implementing plant protection measures across all municipalities including Borjomi, Ninotsminda, Adigeni, Akhaltsikhe, Akhalkalaki, and Aspindza.
Minister Songulashvili was accompanied by Deputy Minister Kakha Kakabadze, State Representative in the Samtskhe-Javakheti Region Zaal Gelashvili, Member of Parliament for Akhaltsikhe, Adigeni, Borjomi, and Aspindza Anton Obolashvili, Mayor of Borjomi Municipality Otar Arbolishvili, Chairman of the Borjomi Municipality Sakrebulo Davit Zaalishvili, Head of the National Food Agency Zurab Chekurashvili, and representatives of agencies operating under the Ministry.
