Davit Songulashvili inspected the process of receiving non-standard apples at “Geo Concentrate”
The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Davit Songulashvili, visited the fruit-processing company Geo Concentrate, where he observed the process of receiving non-standard apples.
Ltd. “Geo Concentrate” is one of the companies registered in the coordination headquarters for supporting the sale of non-standard apples. At this stage, within the programme, the enterprise has already processed more than one tonne of non-standard apples.
Within the state programme, 14 fruit-processing enterprises are purchasing non-standard apples: 7 enterprises in the Shida Kartli region, 2 in Samtskhe-Javakheti, and one enterprise each in Kvemo Kartli, Kakheti, Mtskheta-Mtianeti, and Racha-Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti.
Under the programme for supporting the sale of non-standard apple harvest, fruit-processing companies receive a state subsidy if they purchase non-standard apples at no less than 27 tetri per kilogram until 15 December 2025. The Rural Development Agency will issue a subsidy of 10 tetri per kilogram for non-standard apples.
The Minister was accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Lasha Dolidze; the State Representative of the Shida Kartli region, Simon Guledani; and the Acting Director of the Rural Development Agency, Giorgi Avaliani.
