David Songulashvili Visits Livestock Farm in Sighnaghi Municipality, Meets with Farmers

Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture David Songulashvili visited the livestock farm LLC “Tetri Ferma” in the village of Kvemo Bodbe, Sighnaghi Municipality, and met with farmers engaged in livestock farming in Dedoplistskaro and Sighnaghi municipalities.

He was accompanied by the Chairman of the Agrarian Issues Committee, Gela Samkharauli, State Representative in the Kakheti Region, Giorgi Aladashvili, and Deputy Minister Lasha Dolidze.

Tetri Ferma, also known as White Farm, was established with state financial support. A total of 15 million GEL was invested in the project, of which 3 million GEL was allocated through preferential agrocredit.

The farm produces 8.5 tons of first-class raw milk daily, which is distributed on the local market.

David Songulashvili highlighted the importance of promoting livestock sector development, stating that increased access to preferential financial resources has led to a rise in private investment.

According to the Minister, three new subcomponents were added to the preferential agrocredit program last year, facilitating the establishment and operation of modern-standard cattle breeding farms across the country. Livestock farmers now have more opportunities to expand, improve productivity, and invest in high-performance breeds and upgraded equipment.

The Minister also emphasized the value of direct communication with entrepreneurs and farmers. He noted that feedback on the Ministry’s projects is essential in shaping future agricultural development initiatives.
