David Songulashvili, Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, is participating in the Seventh Session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-7), which will be held in Nairobi, Republic of Kenya.
The session, themed “Sustainable Solutions for a Better Planet,” will take place at the headquarters of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). On December 11, David Songulashvili will address the UNEA-7 Leaders’ Panel.
The event will be attended by ministers responsible for environmental affairs from 44 countries, including Belgium, Finland, Norway, Slovenia, the Netherlands, Hungary, Denmark, Turkey, Armenia, the United Kingdom, Jordan, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, and others, as well as more than 30 high-level representatives.
Within the framework of the visit, David Songulashvili will hold bilateral meetings with Tatiana Molcean, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE); Inger Andersen, Executive Director of UNEP; Jean-Luc Crucke, Minister of Mobility, Climate and Ecological Transition of the Kingdom of Belgium; and Anikó Raisz, State Secretary for Environmental Affairs at the Ministry of Energy of Hungary. Additional meetings are also planned with environment ministers from various countries.
