David Songulashvili Meets Spanish Agriculture Minister in Paris to Deepen Bilateral Cooperation
The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, David Songulashvili, met with the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of Spain, Luis Planas Puchades, during his working visit to France.
The two ministers discussed current and prospective areas of cooperation between Georgia and Spain. Songulashvili highlighted the importance of strengthening trade relations in agricultural products and emphasized that maximizing the benefits of access to the EU market remains a top priority for Georgia.
The discussion also underlined the importance of private sector engagement and investment promotion, which would create mutual benefits for both countries.
“There is significant potential for deepening cooperation between our countries, particularly in the wine sector, gastronomy, wine tourism, and the exchange of innovative technologies. Joint marketing efforts—such as wine exhibitions, symposiums, and other professional platforms—could further reinforce these ties,” said Minister David Songulashvili.
Minister Songulashvili extended an invitation to his Spanish counterpart to visit Georgia.
The meeting was held in Paris, within the framework of the 92nd General Session of the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH).
