British Airways to Launch Direct Flights Between London and Tbilisi in 2025

Negotiations with British Airways have successfully concluded, and the airline will begin operating direct flights between London and Tbilisi with four weekly flights starting in the summer of 2025. This achievement comes after several years of active efforts by the Government of Georgia, particularly the Ministry of Economy.

The introduction of direct flights is expected to strengthen Georgia's connectivity not only with Britain but also with the United States, thanks to British Airways' strong ties with American destinations. The planned flight schedule will align with key transit flights to the U.S., making travel between Georgia, Britain, and the American continent more convenient.

The arrival of British Airways is anticipated to boost tourism from the UK, while also enhancing trade and economic ties between the two countries. Britain remains a key economic partner for Georgia, and direct flights will help foster closer cooperation in various sectors.

British Airways currently flies to 190 destinations worldwide, with its main hub located at London Heathrow Airport.

Presently, over 60 airlines operate in Georgia, offering more than 100 regular flights to over 30 countries. In the first six months of this year, Georgia welcomed more than 3 million international travelers, generating record tourism revenue of $1.9 billion.
