Asian Locust Control Center Presents Monitoring Results to Local Authorities
Specialists from the Asian Locust Control Center held meetings with local government representatives in the regions of Western Georgia and Adjara, the National Food Agency reported.
During the meetings, municipal representatives were briefed on the results of pest spread monitoring and discussed the planning and implementation of coordinated response measures. It was emphasized that, in line with the state program to combat the locust, intensive control activities will be carried out with the active involvement of relevant local government services.
To ensure the effectiveness of pest management efforts, the continued involvement of the local population and farmers is essential. At this stage, this includes the timely execution of agrocalendar-recommended practices, particularly in hazelnut orchards and other agricultural crops.
