Another Stage of Construction at New Passenger Terminal of Kutaisi Airport Completed

Work on the facade, stained glass and roof arrangement of the new passenger terminal of Kutaisi International Airport has been completed.

The works were carried out by the construction company "Anagi".

This is the second phase of construction under the project, which cost 16 million.

The opening of the airport’s new passenger terminal was announced for the fall, although COVID 19 is expected to have an impact on project completion dates, especially as significant reductions in tourist flow is expected this year.

The new airport terminal provides services for 1,200 passengers per hour, 4 times the capacity of the existing one.

Upon completion of the work, it is planned to merge both terminals and the airport will have a common terminal, with departure-arrival halls and all the equipment needed to operate the airport.

The new terminal will have 7 gates and will be able to handle 1,200 passengers smoothly during peak hours.

In 2019, passenger flow at Kutaisi Airport increased by 42% and the airport served up to 900,000 passengers. After the completion of the large-scale project, the total area of Kutaisi International Airport will be about 30 thousand square meters.
