New Website for Traditional Georgian Fabric to Launch From Now On
Within the frameworks of collaborated project of TBC and Art Palace, purchasing the products created by Georgian traditional fabric is already available.
The online store: Qsovili.ge unites collections created with unique fabric motives by the different Georgian designers and startupers.
The project related to traditional Georgian fabric and textile was created by TBC together with Art Palace and aims to examine the history of Georgian fabric, to revive the traditions, and establish them in the modern culture.
"For Georgian fabric samples to be fully integrated into daily life and to give them a modern look, TBC, within the frameworks of supporting business, gave the opportunity to startupers and designers to create a limited number of products based on the patters of the book.
TBC supported approximately 20 entrepreneurs and their activities within the project. The final products and Ready to Wear collections are united under a new Georgian brand and at Qsovilil.ge one can purchase accessories, items, and clothes of Daraia, Lako Bukia, Rose Moda, Muzaradi, Side Size, Ceramic Studio, Lacoaj, Spilow, Why not Gallery, and many more.", TBC bank declared.
According to them, reviving of Georgian historical fabric and examining it started in 2016 by the museum. During two years, a team of artists and researchers visited the churches of Georgia, painted the clothes of people depicted on frescoes, and began to study them.
The book, titled "Fabric from Georgia" was published in 2018, which united more than 200 frescoes, and up to 300 patterns. The material gathered in the book reflects on how diverse, modern, and colorful was a festival clothing many centuries ago.
