Kutaisi to Establish a Major Technological Hub in Former Parliament Building

Kutaisi is set to transform the former Parliament building into its first technological hub, encompassing a broad array of innovative facilities. This hub will include an interactive-scientific-technological museum, a startup accelerator, an international IT school, conference spaces, communal workspaces, and a high-capacity data center aimed at advancing Georgian artificial intelligence.

Additional features of the hub will include a laboratory for electronics, robotics, drones, IoT, STEAM, and industrial innovations (fablab), along with other experimental labs, a VR/AR gaming laboratory, and meeting and training rooms for startups and IT professionals. This will position Kutaisi’s technological hub as one of the largest technology parks in the region.

"The Kutaisi technological hub is poised to become a cornerstone of the country’s digital transformation, significantly enhancing the appeal of Georgia to new tech businesses and investors. This initiative will not only foster job creation and stimulate economic growth but also provide Kutaisi's residents with the opportunity to engage directly with cutting-edge technological research, particularly in artificial intelligence," stated Avtandil Kasradze.

Kasradze highlighted the city’s historical strength in mathematics and the impact of Kutaisi International University, which has been nurturing top-tier talent for four years. "This initiative will position Kutaisi at the forefront of technology not only in Georgia but across the region. In the near future, it will become a prime destination for tech enthusiasts of all ages," Kasradze added.
