EBRD Provides €10 Million Loan to Aversi Pharma
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has extended a €10 million loan to Aversi Pharma.
The financing will support the company's green investment initiatives. According to the EBRD, the funds will be used to renovate and automate a newly acquired central warehouse in Tbilisi, helping modernize the company’s logistics infrastructure and consolidate operations into a single state-of-the-art facility that meets international distribution standards.
The new warehouse is expected to achieve significant energy-efficiency improvements, reducing energy consumption by up to 40% through modern design solutions and advanced automation technologies.
The introduction of automated conveyor systems, robotic technologies, and digital warehouse management platforms will enable more efficient use of space while reducing the carbon footprint of operations.
By establishing one of Georgia’s first highly automated pharmaceutical logistics centers, the project is expected to improve the efficiency, reliability, and resilience of the pharmaceutical supply chain, ultimately enhancing access to medicines across the country.
In addition, the EBRD will support workforce development within the pharmaceutical industry through a dedicated technical cooperation program. The initiative will include the creation of new digital training courses and an e-learning platform, providing professional development opportunities for at least 1,000 employees, including representatives of ethnic minority communities.
