Natia Turnava Engages with Jihad Azour, Director of IMF's Middle East and Central Asia Department
The Acting President of the National Bank of Georgia, Natia Turnava, recently met with Jihad Azour, the Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department at the IMF. This gathering took place within the context of the annual meetings organized by the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in Marrakesh.
Also present at the meeting were Deputy Finance Ministers of Georgia, Ekaterine Guntsadze and Mirza Gelashvili.
The focal point of their discussions revolved around measures and specific strategies to expedite the recovery of the temporarily halted, IMF-supported program. Both parties emphasized the importance of timely completion of the program's second review, assuring their full commitment to the cause.
Regarding the discussions, Natia Turnava, the Acting President of the National Bank, commented, "We have reached a mutual understanding that further endeavors concerning the program's restoration will resume shortly at a technical team level."
During her meeting with Jihad Azour, Turnava reiterated the National Bank's unwavering dedication to maintaining price stability.
