ADB Backs Georgia’s Green Hydrogen Project, Citing Major Step Toward Renewable Energy Integration
Asian Development Bank (ADB) Vice President for South, Central and West Asia Yingming Yang praised Georgia’s newly signed “Energy-Saving and Green Hydrogen Gas Development Project”, calling it an ambitious step that will allow the country to tap into renewable energy sources and stimulate private sector engagement.
Speaking at the official signing ceremony of the loan agreement between Georgia and the ADB, Yang highlighted the project’s technological and economic significance.
“Congratulations on the signing of this historic agreement. The project will facilitate integration into the national energy system and enable the private sector to work with renewable sources,” said Yang. “This is a milestone not only in terms of technological and financial advancement but also in activating private sector investment.”
He emphasized that the initiative is a bold step forward for Georgia and expressed ADB’s full support: “Such an ambitious initiative will give Georgia the opportunity to utilize renewable energy sources. The Asian Development Bank is pleased to be part of this project and especially welcomes the prospect of deeper private sector involvement. I wish you great success on this path.”
