Winemaking Companies Entitled not to Buy Grapes from Winegrowers without Cadastre Extracts

During the 2021 vintage, winegrowers who do not submit extracts from the vineyard cadastres will not be able to sell grapes to winemaking companies.

According to the National Wine Agency, it is necessary to register vineyards and update the cadastre information.

The process is underway in 5 municipalities. As part of the vineyards cadastre program, aerial shots are carried out in Dedoplistskaro and Sighnaghi municipalities. After completion of the process, the registration process will also start in Dedoplistksaro Municipality in June 2021.

The vineyards cadastre program will be completed in Kakheti and Racha-Lechkhumi regions in 2021. Notably, the National Wine Agency launched the program implementation in 2014. Similar cadastres run in all EU countries with developed viticulture and winemaking sectors.
