Winegrowers Sell 120,000 Tons of Grapes in Kakheti Region

Kakhetian winegrowers have already sold 120,000 tons of grapes to about 60 winemaking companies as for September 21, the Georgian Agriculture Ministry reports.

The 2020 vintage proceeds without obstacles and winegrowers are able to sell their harvest without problems and receive incomes, Agriculture Minister Levan Davitashvili noted.

“We have reached the peak period and this signifies the daily output will exceed 10,000 tons. We expect the vintage process in Kakheti Region will be basically completed by the end of September. The Coordination Board stays mobilized. Several thousand trucks are loaded every day and he is a very large-scale process. Thanks to the well-coordinated and controlled job, we have no obstacles”, Levan Davitashvili noted. We remind you that in 2020 the Georgian Government subsidizes the vintage 2020 by 30 Tetri per 1 kilogram of Rkatsiteli or Kakhuri Mtsvane if winemaking companies pay at least 80 Tetri for them.
