Wine Kakheti Winery to Open in Telavi

Wine Kakheti winery will open in Telavi, Kakheti Region, in approximately 2 months. The winery will buy the first batch of grapes in September 2021.

As Wine Kakheti director Levan Zilfiniani told Business Partner, despite the pandemic, the company keeps making investments in the business. The company is implementing the final phase of the winery construction works, he said.

With 150 hectares of vineyards, the company plans to produce approximately 10 wine varieties. The winery will also buy grapes from local winegrowers, he said. As for the export market, the company plans to export its wines to all countries, including to European countries, Zilfiniani said.

Several million will be invested in the project implementation. This project is part of the complex that is being built in Telavi, nearby the railway station, on the territory of the former Viticulture Research Institute. The complex will unite 150-suite hotels, museums. The project implementation will be finished in several years.
