Sustainable Radiance: Wine Kakheti Advances with Strategic Solar Implementations

Bank of Georgia, a robust private financial entity, persists in its active endorsement of eco-conscious initiatives. To further this commitment, a collaborative venture has been undertaken with "Wine Kakheti," leading to the installation of solar panels.

The venture is valued at half a million GEL and is fueled by financial investments from both the Bank of Georgia and the EBRD. As a part of this green initiative, solar panels with a capacity of 360 kilowatts have been instituted at the factory. There are plans in the pipeline for "Wine Kakheti" to expand its solar array, aiming for a comprehensive shift to alternative energy by 2024.

Established in 2017, Wine Kakheti stands out as one of the most prolific wineries in the region, leveraging cutting-edge technology. It owns a diverse range of vineyards, including Saperavi, Rkatsiteli, Kakhuri Green, Kisi, and Khikhvi varieties, located in prime areas of the Kakheti region and employs over 200 individuals.

"Wine Kakheti" and the Bank of Georgia share a long-standing partnership, having realized numerous collaborative projects. In 2019, with the bank’s backing, a subsidiary of "Wine Kakheti" established new vineyards and, in 2021, constructed a grape processing plant, orchestrated storage solutions, and founded reservoirs. "We take pride in the unwavering support from the bank in our novel endeavors. This collaboration is a testament to our fortified partnership, and we are relentless in our pursuit to elevate the business," asserted Levan Zilpimiani, the director of "Wine Kakheti."

Environmental stewardship holds paramount significance for the Bank of Georgia. "We have championed eco-conscious development for several years, propelling the transition from finite to sustainable resources. Numerous projects have come to fruition through our support. Our collaboration with 'Wine Kakheti,' a company with a heightened sense of social responsibility and a deep understanding of environmental conservation, is particularly rewarding. They have embarked on a transformative journey to harness alternative energy, integrating solar panels into their factory. We've been synergizing on projects since 2019 and it’s uplifting to witness the company’s unwavering progress and development. We extend our best wishes to the team and remain steadfast in our support for green initiatives," conveyed Nino Aptsiauri, the Head of the Corporate Sales Sector of the Bank of Georgia.
